Building upon the World Bank’s “Blockchain for Education Community of Practice,” the Web3 Education Alliance (W3EA) is a neutral space to collaborate and host workshops focused on open and interoperable web3-enabled education technologies.
By empowering a community of practice with open, standards-based software developer kits, deployment playbooks, and a framework for pilots and research, W3EA helps community stakeholders to advance learner mobility, data sovereignty, and equitable access to skill development.
The W3EA aligns a coalition of global partners to research, develop, and pilot the next generation of Web3 Education Tools and applications such as universal wallets, verifiable credentials, peer to peer networks, and decentralized organizational structures like DAOs.
These communities spearhead the development and governance of the open data infrastructure, for education, workforce, and the internet at large.
A commitment to open standards can dramatically improve how learners, workers and job seekers, collaborate and communicate.
Employers are well-positioned to influence the economic mobility of their current and future employees with a commitment to open standards.
This commitment can lead to HR innovation, better prepared training partners, and influence public policy by recommending infrastructure that prioritizes workers’ needs.
